The external is as beautiful as the internal, and we loved just standing outside. A must-see if you're in France.

Go early! We got there at 9am and didn't have to stand in line for the Mona Lisa or wait for any of the exhibits we wanted to see. By noon it was a madhouse and we left, but we were very happy with our experience.

There’s so much to see that a tour of some sort is preferable if you’re really interested in seeing more than a small part of this incredible museum. We got the headphones and they did give info about some of the well- known works, but they don’t help navigate through this huge museum.
