Overview:
Step into the heart of art and history at the Louvre Museum
Behold the enigmatic smile of the Mona Lisa, the world's most recognizable portrait, and marvel at the exquisite craftsmanship of the Venus de Milo, a symbol of feminine beauty.Traverse the vast galleries, where thousands of paintings, sculptures, and artifacts await your discovery.Elevate your experience with pre-purchased online tickets, saving you valuable time and money.Bypass the long lines and skip directly to the museum, where you'll enter the Louvre Pyramid, a contemporary architectural marvel.
My recommendations are to buy your tickets in advance on line or at FNAC, and then plan for what you want to see. This is a huge museum with lots of treasures and many of them do not have crowds around them. Of course the greatest hits re swamped and you need to be prepared for that. And find some places to sit and rest. Come back another day if you did not see all you wanted to. Great on a hot day.
I loved visiting the Louvre again as my last visit was in my teens 35 years ago. We avoided going to see the Mona Lisa and made a beeline for the Egyptology section and the displays of French paintings. Highly recommended, even if you haven’t booked in advance.
Amazing collection that can be appreciated by even folks who aren’t art connoisseurs!
